Criminal Harassment and Potential for Treatment: Literature Review and Annotated Bibliography

Cooper, M.

This literature review was initiated in anticipation of a demand on forensic psychiatric services as a result of Canada’s criminal legislative reform of 1993 (Bill C-126, Section 264) on Criminal Harassment, commonly known as the Anti-Stalking bill. This report examines what is known about stalking and individuals who stalk others. Special attention is paid to the psychiatric literature on disorders or syndromes which can lead to stalking behaviour and treatment possibilities.
