1994 Vancouver and Lower Mainland Single Mothers' Resource
Guide
Vancouver Status of Women has once again published the Vancouver
and Lower Mainland Single Mothers' Resource Guide.
Since 1990, more than 20,000 copies of the guide have been
distributed free to single mothers, but the Vancouver Status
of Women continues to receive calls daily from women looking
for this unique source of information and support. This year
we have printed more than 8,000 copies to respond to this
ongoing need.
The guide is free for single mothers, but we encourage community
organizations distributing the guide to contribute $2.00 per
copy towards the costs of reprinting the guide. Tax deductible
donations can also be made towards the costs of reprinting
the guide. To receive a copy or copies or to make a donation,
please call the Vancouver Status of Women.
The guide contains more than 60 pages of easy-to-read information
on housing, childcare, welfare, education and training, legal
assistance, free and low-cost services, counselling, information
and referral services for single mothers. The 1994 edition
has been completely updated and revised to contain the latest
information. It is the most comprehensive and the only resource
guide of its kind for single mothers.
The 1994 edition of the guide has been funded by the Ministry
of Social Services, the Ministry of Women's Equality, the
Law Foundation of B.C., the Vancouver Foundation and the Legal
Services Society. However, if we wish to continue to produce
the guide in the future, we need your support. Please consider
distributing the guide and paying $2.00 per copy to cover
future printing costs.
Please contact the Vancouver Status of Women at (604) 255-5511
as soon as possible to order your copies.
